The First order of relaxation is to slip into a more casual Island time. Life is much simpler here. The Octagon architecture of the Inn looks reminiscent of tiered umbrellas and functions like a canopy from the elements. Windowed on all sides the moods of the Island and forest are always in view giving our guests an intamacy with the Nature that is around us. Guest rooms with views so private that to draw a shade is your option. Each of the Inns rooms has been individually decorated and designed for your personal comfort and relaxation. Luxurious amenities, wonderful natural all cotton linens, comfortable chairs with foot-up comfort and good reading lights are a standard of guest comfort.
On the entry level is a stunning combination of nature and art. A focal point is a cathedral height scenic wall mural of Saratoga Passage. Flanking a twenty-foot brick hearth are tall windows that mirror the firs at the forest's edge. The unique combination of art and real life seem to make the walls disappear and bring the outside in. Imagine a winter's night with a fire and gazing into evening summer sunset over the Passage. This is definitely a place where nature has a mood for every season.
Our lovely second-level library lounge is a favorite spot. Bright and spacious, with a large window seat for reading or contemplating. The window seat provides a refreshing look at the forest and the start of the morning trail to the pasture. Complementary WIFI is throughout the inn's guest rooms and common areas so you may catch up on e-mail any where you choose. A DVD library is available to guests. The hospitality counter located in the library is always well stocked with complimentary coffee, herbal teas, cider, and hot chocolate. Our famous cookie jar can be found there as well, stocked with freshly baked signature chocolate chip cookies. You can eat as many as you want. 205,890 cookies served here.
The outdoor hot tub . Sometimes you need a little swirling hot water to melt the stresses of everyday life. Immerse yourself and watch the fading light of an evening sky behind the trees. In early Spring listen to the frog chorus urshering in the change of season. Enjoy the twilight of a summers eve or an orange Indian summer moon rise in the sky between the tall firs. Canopied and adjacent to the Inn on the spa deck, the outdoor hot tub is a relaxing oasis spring, summer and fall.
